Dear Mayor Stewart and Councilmembers,
As someone who has utilized the SLO City bus system at times over the years, I support all efforts to
make the transit system more convenient and accessible to everyone. I believe public transit is a great
solution to many city issues, including traffic, parking, and climate resiliency. However, the routes and
timing as it exists now creates too many obstacles for choosing public transit to be practical for most
people.
I also support all efforts to make the transit system more convenient and accessible to everyone as the
Executive Director for SLO CLimate Coalition. It is crucial that alternative transportation that lowers our
greenhouse gas emissions becomes mainstream and embraced by the greater public. SLO Climate
Coalition looks forward to working with the City to encourage these cultural shifts and achieve a more
sustainable SLO.
Best,
Laura
