Hi Justin,
FedEx staff incorrectly quoted City staff a total of $11.94 (pre-tax). The total cost including tax is $12.98, a
difference of $1.04. Please make a payment to the Finance office, Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm. We apologize
for this error and the inconvenience on your end. I have attached a copy of the receipt for your records.
Please note, copies for the plans you are requesting have been made and are ready for pick up at the City
Clerk’s office after payment has been made. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Staff has received the Plan Request Architect/Engineer Authorization form for the copies that
you are requesting. Additionally, staff has received a quote from Kinkos (FedEx), and the cost is
$11.94. You can make a payment at the Finance counter located at 990 Palm Street with a
check or debit/credit card. Their public counter hours are 8am – 4pm Mon-Thurs and closed to
the public on Friday’s. Once we have confirmed payment, staff will move forward with the
copies.

I have reached out to staff at the Fire Department regarding the copies you are requesting, and
they have clarified the process as follows.
Since you are requesting copies of the plans, staff will also need to mail a certified letter to the
architect/engineer of those plans and receive a signed and stamped form. Without this
additional form signed by the architect/engineer, staff cannot provide you with copies. The
architect/engineer has 30 days to respond to the request. Once a signed and stamped form is
provided to staff, they can provide you with digital copies of the scanned plans OR they can
send scans to a local company that works with the City of SLO that can perform the print service
for a fee. Any fees associated with this service must be covered by the requester.
As you have been expecting copies of the plans, I will have staff proceed with mailing the
certified letter to the architect/engineer.
