The City of San Luis Obispo (“City”) received your request pursuant to the California Public Records Act
delivered via email on May 6, 2024.
Please note the following information from staff –
The EnerGov system doesn’t have the ability to pull building permit information (number of units) to
specific developments or apartment complexes. An advanced search/data pull to pull all building
permits over 20 units, would not actually generate all the information the requester is looking for.
There could be apartment complexes that are comprised of several buildings/building permits with
less than 20 units per building which would meet the parameters that the requester is looking for. The
permitting system has no way to discern which permits are associated with which apartment
complexes, which is what they are looking for.
If the requestor would like to receive a list of building permits that contain 20+ units, we can provide
that, however it is unlikely that it will be the complete list and the only associated information that we
could provide is the address.
If you would like to receive a list of the building permits that contain 20+ units, please let me know. Otherwise,
we will consider this request as completed.
Please be advised that every effort has been made to search for all records which may fall within the scope of
your records request, and, as such, we believe our search is quite thorough. However, if you have knowledge
of a specific document which has not been provided in response to your request, please notify us, and we will
be happy to provide the document(s) to you unless, of course, it is exempt from disclosure pursuant to
California Government Code §7921.000 et seq.
