However, can you please clarify the scope of your request for “all emails and correspondence”? Are you referring to all emails and correspondence related to the June 2024 inspection? As an initial matter, I want to apologize for not getting back in touch with you as I had indicated I would when we spoke in June. Christine and I have recently been working with Utilities staff to understand the findings of their June 2024 inspection and evaluating those findings against our newly adopted Sewer Use Ordinance (SLOMC 13.08.092 – Grease control device requirements). Unfortunately, our office’s lines crossed with Utilities staff and I was not able to speak with you before the Notice to Correct was issued. With respect to your request in the last paragraph, no such records currently exist. Christina provided an example grease capacity calculation in compliance with our new code, but as the NTC states the City is open to exploring alternatives that meet the performance objectives set forth in SLMC Section 13.08.092. Finally, per Christina’s email below, we are hoping to schedule a meeting with you and Hal to discuss staff’s findings, our new code requirements, and how Firestone can achieve compliance with the performance objectives adopted therein. As noted above, we are striving to make this a collaborative process and value your feedback on any points of disagreement with the NTC and furthermore, a mutually agreeable solution. We believe this is best addressed through an in person meeting. If you are open to this, please us know some dates and times you are available. In the meantime, we will begin processing your Public Records Act request. Pending your review, we would like to schedule a meeting to discuss the Notice and explore potential solutions that meet the grease removal performance objectives stipulated in the City’s sewer use ordinance SLOMC 13.08.092 – Grease control device requirements. As a courtesy, the City has provided an example grease capacity calculation (attached) in alignment with the new ordinance to aid in the conversation. We look forward to working with you. Please let us know your availability during the month of August, and we will schedule a meeting. Regards, Christina Christina Claxton pronouns she/her/hers Environmental Programs Manager
