Step one is to install the ped protection as shown and take over (3) parking spaces/zones on the frontage of Firestone on Higuera as shown. [In front of this business only] We will be submitting a plan for Chris on grease interceptor install which will include curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement as well as tree install. We met with A/V today onsite and they are hoping to have this plan next week. We will be submitting a traffic control plan for FULL Osos closure (night work is planned to avoid traffic) for Truss set on patio. Closure will exist only in front of Firestone and adjoining business will still have access to driveways. But both sides of Osos will be closed for trusses and tail swing. This submittal is coming shortly for approval. Please see attached plan and advise on questions and concerns. We plan to install ped protection on 02/15. Wheel Chair/ADA access will be maintained. 5' interior clear with plywood sides on restaurant side. Thank you. -Ben Kulick- STALWORK, INC. CONSTRUCTION + DESIGN License #948012 P.O. I recognize and truly appreciate how cooperative you and Hal have been in attempting to find solutions for this chronic issue. I appreciate the update on the Firestone interceptor(s) which helps me understand the current challenges and where things might have slipped. Here's a quick recap of what we discussed (please correct me if I've mischaracterized anything): • Upgraded interceptor plan efforts fell flat shortly after I left when City building dept. staff requested detailed final plumbing plans and interceptor sizing models. You suggested this work might take two -three months for a number of reasons including limited as-builts, approval times, current project schedule constraints and procurement of materials. The current project work schedule is past the point of including the interceptor due to procurement schedules (sidewalk work this week). Firestone/Stalwork suggested starting by just getting the tanks in the sidewalk (biggest that would fit) but this didn't seem to be an option to the City (did somebody actually say this?) ■ If the sizing isn't sufficient, increased pumping frequency would be required but would still be exponentially better than the existing under -sink units ■ Significant survey and design work is required to map out the plumbing connections to ensure only the kitchen FOG is captured and separated from the other discharges. In the interim and after a recent inspection by our staff, Firestone has increased (again) the current interceptor service intervals. Thanks again for your cooperation. Please comment if needed, and we will circle up internally before following up with you to map out a path forward. I will be heading out of the office for a few weeks beginning Thursday, so I'm copying a few others that would be able to help provide additional feedback on the concept.
