1. CALL TO ORDER
A Special Meeting of the San Luis Obispo City Council was called to order on
August 27, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Council Hearing Room at City Hall, 990
Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, by Mayor Stewart.

3. CITY COUNCIL DISCUSSION ITEMS
3.a DISCUSSION ON THE COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS AND
COMMUNICATIONS (Estimated Time: 45 minutes)
Policy and Project Manager Natalie Harnett introduced the item and
Council discussed their ideas for the Liaison Reports and Communications
section of the Council Agendas.
ACTION: By consensus, the Council decided to split the Liaison Reports
and Communications section of the Council Agenda into two sections. List
the Regional Boards that each Council Member is the Liaison to under the
Liaison Reports section and to try a pilot program to have the Liaison
Reports occur after the City Manager Report for the next three meetings,
starting September 17, 2024.

3.b DISCUSSION ON TOPICS TO INCLUDE ON FUTURE DISCUSSION
ITEM AGENDAS (Estimated time: 45 minutes)
Council discussed whether to continue these working meetings and, if
they are to continue, some topics they would like to discuss.
ACTION: By consensus, the Council decided to continue these Special
Meetings three times a year. The following topics will be scheduled:
Council Onboarding
Council Retreat topics
Selecting Liaison Assignments
4. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 1:30 p.m. The next Regu lar Meeting of the City
Council will be held on September 3, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers
at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo.
