Chair and Esteemed Commissioners,
I’d like to extend my sincere thanks to the Planning Commission for their diligent review of Embarc San Luis
Obispo’s Conditional Use Permit for their new retail location at my property, 2400 Broad St. As a local architect
and principal of Isaman design, Inc. I’ve had many projects before this body and know firsthand the level of care
and attention that goes into these decisions.
Today, I write not only as the property owner but also as a proud local partner Embarc SLO’s proposed dispensary,
which I believe will bring significant benefits to the business corridor that my architectural practice operates in.
At nearly 2,500 square feet, our plan is to build a thriving retail location that contributes to the economic and visual
landscape of Broad St. As a proud member of the Broad St. community, I know Embarc will be a welcomed
presence. In line with the City’s goals as outlined in the General and Special Plans, Embarc San Luis Obispo will
bring new customers to the area contributing meaningfully to enhancing the economic vitality of our Broad Street
community.
Isaman design, Inc. is located at 2420 Broad St. and will also be a proud neighbor to Embarc SLO. As such, I’m
happy to share that the site design not only includes sufficient ingress and egress so as not to impact surrounding
businesses, but also features designated parking to accommodate the new customers Embarc SLO will bring to
the area.
I am proud to serve on Embarc’s Community Advisory Board, to ensure this business delivers real benefits to our
community. Our Board is composed of local leaders who will distribute Embarc’s Community Investment Fund
and hold Embarc to account for their other commitments to our community.
Thank you for the work this Commission does to ensure thoughtful development in our community. I respectfully
request you approve Embarc SLO’s Conditional Use Permit.
Sincerely,
Bill Isaman
