Dear Advisory Body,
I wholeheartedly support Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Luis Obispo County's school-based mentorship
program at Pacheco Elementary. As a parent of a 'Little' who benefited from this program in a different school
district last year, I've witnessed firsthand its profound positive impact on my daughter's life.
The program's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion resonates deeply with me. By recruiting mentors
from diverse backgrounds, Big Brothers Big Sisters creates a safe space for students to connect with role
models who share their experiences and cultural heritage.
Their school-based program addresses critical issues like bullying and discrimination, fostering empathy and
inclusivity. By empowering students from underrepresented groups, Big Brothers Big Sisters helps break down
barriers, paving the way for a more equitable future.
I enthusiastically endorse continuing this critical program at Pacheco Elementary School, ensuring students
benefit from life-changing mentorships. Thank you, Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLO County, for your tireless
efforts to create positive and prosperous futures for our youth.
Thank you!
