Advisory Board,
I am writing to the Board requesting you to approve the BigBrotherBigSisters (BBBS) DEI High Impact
Grant for the Pacheco Elementary school-based mentorship program.
BBBS currently has a successful school-based mentorship programs at various schools in SLO county.
BBBS provides supervision and training to High School seniors in order for them to become mentors. The
High School mentors (Bigs) are then paired up with an individual child who have signed up as a Little
through their Elementary school. The Bigs provide a positive role model, personalized mentorship, spend
quality time with their Littles by helping with their homework, talking, playing board games, etc.
Again, I want to encourage the Advisory Board to approve the BBBS DEI High Impact
Grant for the Pacheco Elementary school-based mentorship program. By approving the grant, the Board
will be funding a program that will have a positive and long-lasting impact on the children attending
Pacheco Elementary school.
