Dear Commissioners,
Thank you for your impactful work in the community. I'm writing today to state our strong support for the
Diversity Coalition's application for funding to continue building the incredible BIPOC Board Leadership
Training.
Leadership SLO is excited and honored to have the opportunity to partner with the Diversity Coalition.
Our collaborative relationship is strengthening. The Diversity Coalition has lent us significant support in
improving the quality of our program by establishing better equity focused content while we have been
able to amplify and uplift their work across the board. We couldn't be more excited about the future
where both programs are thriving, improving community wide belonging for underrepresented groups,
and changing the dynamics of who has access to power. The BIPOC Board Leadership program
completely deserves your attention and funding support.
As a former City Council member, I know firsthand how important the advisory bodies are, and after
reviewing your list of grant requests, deeply appreciate the difficult decisions that lie before you. All of
the applicants are worthy of support, and the projects therein are impressive. Best of luck with your
deliberations and thank you for the consideration.
Sincerely,
Dan Rivoire
