OK appreciate the update Jeff. However, I am sƟll unclear the direcƟon to Gensler to design the units. Think it’s
probably safest if the housing authority could clarify their exact unit requirements in an email and we’ll take off from
there, with the acknowledgement that a HUD defined SRO unit (110sf unit + 4 sf closet) would in all likelihood be
cheaper and 46 EDUs (195sf) will likely not fit on this site. Does that make sense?

Subject: SRO response
Folks,
2
I heard back from Cal-ICH. I have pasted it below.
While Cal-ICH does not have specific requirements regarding SROs, projects do
need to be in compliant with Housing First and residents must have leases
proving tenancy for housing to be considered permanent .
I believe this gets us where we need to be on the SRO issue.
As far as the question of not having all ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes in the PSH units, a change request
would need to be submitted and reviewed by Cal ICH. At this point, I do not want to do that as it is critical to future
funding that the units meet our housing Authority’s voucher requirements. If we get to a point where it is physically
impossible to make that work, I will need to meet with my leadership to discuss submitting change request.
