Here’s the latest I’ve gotten. Haven’t even looked at the attachments yet, but wanted to pass on so you
have the most current timeline for outreach.

Subject: Communication final documents
Happy Monday Everyone,
Attached are the final version of the outreach letter and FAQs with all feedback incorporated. Also attached is the
stakeholder outreach excel sheet. We are working on putting this in a shared location, and the link will be shared
shortly.
A couple of notable changes:
Date, time and location of community information sessions was removed from the letter and instead we
ask the individual receiving the letter to go to our website to register for a community information session
The website will have the date and time of the community information session listed, but not the location.
We want individuals to register for the session first and then they will be provided the location. The logic
here is that we want to know who plans to attend to the best of our abilities beforehand.
To recap our next steps:
Each of us will contact the entity we are assigned this week, with a goal of making either a phone or in
person contact by Wednesday, and either dropping off or mailing the letter and FAQ by Friday
Our website will be updated by this Wednesday 4/10
Community mailers are going out next week

Jeanette and Linda are working together on a press release
A follow up communication meeting has been scheduled for 4/18 at 3:30 for this group to work on:
Community presentation
Door hangars and neighborhood outreach plan
Thank you!

Dear [Prefix][First Name] [Last Name][Suffix],
On behalf of the County of San Luis Obispo, I am honored to share information about an
exciting project currently under development for the County Health Agency Campus on
Johnson Avenue in the City of San Luis Obispo, called the Welcome Home Village.
Welcome Home Village is the result of a partnership between County and City of San Luis
Obispo, developer DignityMoves and Good Samaritan Shelter aimed at collaboratively
addressing encampments throughout the city. The project will house and provide
supportive services to 80 unhoused individuals, enabling them to move from homelessness
to long term housing.
Attached to this letter is a Frequently Asked Question document that provides an overview
of the program and how this addition will seamlessly integrate with services already
existing on the County’s Health Campus.
We realize that the community will have additional questions, and we invite you to visit
slocounty.gov/WelcomeHomeVillage to learn more about the project and register for an
upcoming community information session,
Thank you for your support and understanding as we work together to address
homelessness in our community. We look forward to connecting with you soon.

Welcome Home Village (WHV) FAQ
April 4, 2024
1. Welcome Home Village is a program that will enable the City and County of San Luis
Obispo to work collaboratively to address encampments throughout San Luis Obispo.
Up to 80 unhoused individuals will be provided housing and supportive services so
that they can move from homelessness to long term housing.
2. Why will Welcome Home Village be successful?
Supportive housing communities like the ones created by DignityMoves and Good Samaritan
Shelter are 5 times more successful in helping people secure and maintain safe and stable
housing, and we are eager to replicate their successes here in the city of San Luis Obispo.
Similar successful programs include 5Cities Homeless Coalition’s Cabins for Change in Grover
Beach, Transitions-Mental Health Association’s Bishop Street Studios in San Luis Obispo, and
the DignityMoves’ pilot program located in the heart of Santa Barbara.
3. Who will live at the Welcome Home Village?
Welcome Home Village will enable the City and County to work collaboratively to address
encampments throughout the City, starting with those encamped on the Bob Jones trail
No PC 290 (registered sex offenders) will be enrolled in the program.
4. How was the location chosen?
The SLO County Health Agency Campus on Johnson provides integrated access to nearby
medical centers, behavioral health outpatient services, and the crisis stabilization unit.
Conveniently located near grocery stores, two bus stops, the SLO Railroad Safety Trail, and
other important amenities.
5. How will Welcome Home Village operate?
Case management, outreach, and treatment services will be provided on site by Good
Samaritan shelter, a provider with over 35 years’ experience in delivering services to those
experiencing homelessness
WHV will provide everything the residents need on site including, 24-hour staff and security,
privacy fencing, individual units for each resident, and onsite laundry and cooking facilities
