Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear City Council, I live in the Monterey Heights neighborhood, which, like the Alta Vista neighborhood, is having to deal with the proliferation of satellite fraternity houses. RQN's appeal of several aspects of the Conditional Use Permit recently issued to Lamda Chi Alpha is very reasonable and will help shore up the existing permit, which is full of loopholes that seem designed to give the Fraternity myriad ways to continue disrupting neighborhoods. The SLO City Council has a responsibility to act in the best interest of San Luis Obispo. RQN's appeal helps maintain the liveability of SLO neighborhoods, and is a reasonable step in ensuring the health of the community. Without taking a stand, the liveability of the SLO neighborhoods will continue to decline and become choked with student rentals and fraternities, leading to noise disturbances, out of control partying, and an increase in trash and blight on our streets. Our city suffers because property owners who rent to students are largely disinterested in maintaining the property. They are not concerned with the impact of their business model on the fabric of the community. Please support the residents who live in and maintain their homes, pay property taxes, and vote. Imagine neighborhoods without us, or tour Isla Vista, and consider how much more difficult it will be to manage the city once we've fled. Please protect our public safety and the liveability of our neighborhoods. A first step would be incorporating RQN's requests to Lamda Chi Alpha's CUP. Thank you, Doug Irion 1
