Hello Adam,
Proposals currently proposed look good. I want to focus on the Sacramento Drive project.
Proposal looks good so far. Glad to see this may finally happen. Widening of north bound bike lane is
essential. It has never been fully adequate, given gutter occurrence & large trucks having to park in bike lane
for pick up/delivery, causing cyclists to swerve into drive lane. Also, the paving condition has become so poor
with lots bumps and hazards etc. that I and others, I am sure, avoid riding Sacramento Drive, even though this
has been a primary cycling route for many years.
Question: reducing drive lanes to ten foot width is good, but Is this acceptable for the many large trucks that
use Sacramento Drive daily? I hope so.
Additionally, the project should include Industrial Way from Sacramento Drive to Broad Street (Hwy. 227).
Conditions of this connection to complete route preferences have some similarities to Sacramento Drive.
Similar paving and marking improvements would clarify conditions from Orcutt Road to Broad Street via
Sacramento and Industrial streets.
Sincerely,
Dale Sutliff.
