Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hello, I’m writing to provide public comment/thoughts for the Thursday, November 11th Active Transportation Committee meeting. These comments relate to agenda item 4.a, “2025 Paving Project”. Very importantly, I want to thank you for your work and efforts aimed at keeping our community safe! I am a resident/home owner in The Arbors neighborhood (1365 Aralia Ct.). The following comments relate specifically to the plans for the section of Tank Farm Rd. between the Righetti Ranch Rd. and Orcutt Rd roundabouts.  I fully agree with and support the need to reduce speed along this section of Tank Farm Rd. I believe that by reducing the speed to 35 mph (from current 40 mph) and posting more signs (making sure they are visible and not obstructed by trees) this goal can be accomplished.  I have great concern regarding the “installation of flexible bollards separating bicyclists from motor vehicle traffic” on this section of Tank Farm. These bollards would be an obstruction to the line of sight for vehicles turning from Brookpine Dr. and Wavertree St. Given the hill crest in the road between these two intersections (which already blocks the view of oncoming traffic) it is imperative that the line of sight when turning has no further obstruction. If a barrier between vehicle and bicycle lanes is deemed necessary, it should be at ground level and should not in any way obstruct the line of sight at these intersections! Painting green bike lane markings would be a perfect plan for this section of road given how the hill crests here.  My husband and I both ride our bikes along Tank Farm regularly. We have always felt safe with the bike lanes as they are now @ 8 feet! Allotting 3 feet of space for bollards, while reducing the vehicle and bike lanes width, is completely unnecessary. Thank you in advance for your consideration of these thoughts/concerns. Again, I greatly appreciate your work and energy in keeping our community safe. Please feel free to contact me either via return email, or by phone at 925-683-7036. Kind regards, Janna Drobny 1365 Aralia Court San Luis Obispo Sent from my iPad 1
