Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear ATC members, I am writing to thank you for your support and work on updating the Broad Street Area Plan. Our Broad Street neighborhood is united behind improving the safety of this street generally, but most importantly between the South street and Orcutt Road intersections. Please keep the Broad Street Area Plan as a tier 1 project for the city and make this important street segment a priority for the 2025/27 budget and major city goal. This street is incredibly dangerous to cross on foot, make left turns in and out of the adjoining residential areas and cycle along. The tra?ic in this segment drives far too fast with no gaps due to a lack of controlled intersections. The rate of collisions is very high and even more frightening is the number of near misses between pedestrians, cyclist and the vehicular tra?ic is astounding. it is just a matter of time before one of our neighbors is killed on this street. Please implement the “Quick Build” projects in to the 2025/27 budget. We don’t know what that might entail to make this street safer but lowering tra?ic speeds and more signalized intersections should be at the top of the list. Something needs to be done NOW Creating a safer Broad street is what our neighborhood is united and focused on. Thank you for your service to SLO and all you do to make our city better.
