Dear Council Members, I support every request made by RQN to be included under a "Neighborhoods" umbrella and considered a Major City Goal. It might interest you to know that although I love SLO, I no longer feel comfortable going downtown to shop or for restaurants, etc. In my opinion, the City has catered way too much to students, their parents, younger workers, and tourists, and inadequately paid attention to the desires and needs of its older residents and retirees--people who have long lived here. All planning seems to be geared toward increasing revenue from these groups rather than making the City feel as welcoming for the rest of us. I know you all want "vibrancy." I get that. But comfort, peace, and quiet, are my preferred values. Sharon Whitney -- We are all teachers and students for each other. 1
