Dear Mayor and Members of the Council.
I support the letter that Residents for Quality Neighborhoods has sent you and hope you will take a serious
look at the problems in the neighborhoods around Cal Poly. Cal Poly is certainly an asset to our
community but they have to be part of our community and not take over areas without respect for citizens
that live near by. When I look at the City goals they all have the same request of the City Council that our
community is safe and inviting for all regardless of where you live or travel in our city. Homelessness is an
issue for all areas as is infrastructure but it is all about Neighborhood wellness. Cal Poly should work
closely with the city in having their students follow zoning laws and positive behavior. The homes in the
Cal Poly area should have double the enforcement of other areas due to the City working with Cal
Poly. Neighborhood wellness in other areas only has City employees. We are all affected by
homelessness and traffic in some of our areas that are dangerous because of new bike lanes that we
cannot even pullover to allow an emergency vehicle to pass. Please take advantage of having Cal Poly to
work with in providing a positive relationship among citizens near the college and the students.
