Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. ________________________________ Hello San Luis City Council, I live on Lawrence Drive and would like to thank you for the response to our neighborhood’s earlier request to address the dangerous traffic conditions on Broad Street, and I respectfully request that you continue funding improvements to this corridor in your 2025-2027 budgeting process. As the city continues to grow, especially along Broad Street near Lawrence Drive, the traffic congestion and dangerous conditions seem to get worse by the day. We cannot turn left out of Lawrence Drive onto Broad Street and even a right turn is difficult due to limited visibility and heavy traffic. The sharp turn and street parking at the Broad Street end of Lawrence Drive and other side streets creates a one lane blind corner here, exacerbating the problem. We try to ride bicycles or walk as much as possible, but crossing Broad Street is extremely dangerous except at the distantly separated signals. Traffic on Broad Street is fast and loud, and the center turn lane is a head-on collision waiting to happen. Although we support a denser housing situation, the new developments and apartments along Broad Street, including the new development near Lawrence Drive, are happening far in advance of the necessary infrastructure improvements needed allow for safe driving. Please keep addressing this issue! Bless you for listening to us, but I fear an accident is imminent, so please fund a solution here soon. With Much Respect, Kevin Cooper Lawrence Drive, SLO 1
