Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. 1 2 TO THE SLO CITY PLANNING COMMISSION: On behalf of the hundreds of people living in their vehicles in and around SLO City, we need RV parks that would provide a permanent place to live - as you all enjoy. Most homeless people here are local and this is their home too. "Safe parking sites' have been tried - they don't work here. Hundreds of thousands of taxpayers' funds were spent on Okie Ave, then shut down with no plan in place forcing those living there into the City to park. The safe parking site by the RR station closed down 1-1/2 years ago. No plan yet. People don't want them. They make no sense. People were forced out at 7:00 am to roam around SLO, polluting our air. Hundreds of people live in their vehicles, trying to stay off SLOPD's radar. Officers harass people day and night telling homeless people: "The chief sent us to clean up." They bang on doors at 2:00 am harassing homeless people who have been given no warning to move. But expensive RVs are parked all night in SLO parking lots - these owners are not harassed or ticketed. This is discrimination against our homeless people. John Boy's tows vehicles with current tags, taking people's housing away. There is plenty of land in or around SLO for an RV park for those living in their vehicles. So much taxpayer money is spent on lighting up the downtown all night and lighting up city hall during holidays. Over $300,000 was paid out to TwoMexicans.com between 2020 and 2022 for them to take people's worldly belongings - - that they turn around and sell. Please stop violating homeless people's human and civil rights - they are not going away. And it's going to get worse if we don't be proactive instead of reactive. We all know them will be no morefunding for homelessness in America now. SLO can set an example for the rest of the country by stopping the persecution of fellow human beings, and instead provide safe, sensible, humane, and permanent places for our people to be. We await your reply. Sincerely, y .,`"", tkt9BlOV6 Becky Jorgeson, Founder & President HOPE'S VILLAGE OF SLO wwwhopesvillageofslo.com 805-234-5478
