Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Council Members, I am writing to express my support for the Grand Ave. Pilot Project! As a student who bikes and walks to campus on Grand, my experience has improved significantly with the new improvements. I feel much safer because of the increased visibility when biking on Grand. The increased space between the sidewalk and cars has also made me feel much safer walking on Grand. I encourage the council to continue eventuating the active transportation needs of San Luis Obispo and expand the bike network. One aspect of the Grand Ave Pilot Project that I would change for future improvements or projects is to have protected bike lanes with reflectors. Cars need a clear division between bike and driving lanes. I have observed cars ignoring the paint and using the bike lane as a turn lane. This can create dangerous conflicts between bikes and cars that should be prevented. Thank you for approving this project, I hope the council continues to improve the bike infrastructure in San Luis Obispo. Keep up the good work!
