Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Council Members, Thank you for the hard decisions that you make for our city, I am finding hard to imagine the proposed plans to reduce lanes on some busy city streets. (Tank Farm Rd. Broad St, Johnson Ave and FoothilL Blvd) I feel that this is a detriment to the safety of our community. Taking current fires in LA as an example this could reduce emergency response time significantly, And create gridlock in the case of an emergency. Using Johnson Ave as an example, this is a large neighborhood with only access from the 2 ends. Chorro St was reduced and I have heard nothing but complaints from the residence of San Luis Obispo and have also been made aware of problems with people hitting the additional curb islands. I know parking has been an issue in our city, yet we eliminated it on one side of this street. The area on Tank Farm Rd that is proposed to be narrowed is a very wide St. That in my opinion is perfectly fine. My only thought would be to put in a Crosswalk like the Installed on Johnson at Sydney. This would create a safer crossing for residents and at a time when I am aware that city sales tax revenues are down. This would be a considerable saving for the city ( and we the taxpayers). I am a 5th Generation city resident and have quietly watched our beautiful city grow, I am proud of where I have had the privilege to grow up. These street changes do not benefit our city and would be costly changes that create more problems than solutions. Thank you for taking the time to read through my concerns. Jeffrey E Kimball 1
