Dear Mayor Stewart and Council members,
Let me begin by commending the City staff for hard work required for the proposed improvements
to South Higuera Street.
I am both a cyclist and a motorist who lives near Margarita Avenue. The proposed safety
improvements for cyclists are sure to save lives, increase bicycle usage, and add thoughtful design to
our urban environment. Motorists in this area frequently exceed the posted speed limit, and the
proposed rodeway reconfiguration will help address this ongoing problem. Finally, the welcome
aesthetic improvements this project brings are sure to visually integrate this part of town into the rest
of the city we all love.
