The Prado Road Interchange supports SLOCOG to achieve important regional goals and objectives by supporting housing development, reducing vehicle miles travelled and greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing the overall multimodal ecosystem in a quickly growing part of the region. The project will be transformative for the city and the region, but local and regional transit service enhancements that can be supported by this project should be further evaluated. While SLOCOG has taken recent programming actions to remove funding from the construction phase of this project we have received Board direction to readdress our funding commitment in the 2026 Funding Cycle with the goal of restoring previous funding commitments. SLOCOG fully supports staff's recommendations on this item and we look forward to coordinating with you and your staff as we progress through the funding and project development process.
