City Manager’s Report

February Winter Storm Update
•Public Works activated the
Department Operations
Center (DOC)
•Level 3 storm response
•Event worked by
approximately 35 staff
•Over 40 issues mitigated by
field crews

SLO Restaurant Month
•Nearly 60 eateries participated
•More than 60% of businesses said they saw an
increase in traffic YoY and the majority said
customers liked/loved their offer
•Feedback from restaurants included:
•“It definitely helped us stay busy in January
which is typically one of our slower months”
•“I appreciate all the work you're doing to
support local businesses. It really helps to
create a community feel. Keep doing what
you're doing!”

Community Wildfire Forum
•In collaboration with CalFire, SLO County Fire and
SLO County OES.
•Officials from City of SLO:
•Building Department
•Fire Department
•Office of Sustainability and Natural Resources
•Panel discussion covering wildfire and emergency
readiness

Exciting Opportunities for Downtown Parking
Single Mobile App for Street Parking: PayByPhone
•Early March – Installation of Signage
•Beginning March – Ongoing Promotions and Marketing
New Gated System at 842 Palm Garage
•Early March – Installation of gated equipment
•Work will be 2 weeks, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
•Garage will be OPEN during construction, but plan for
additional time entering and exiting
•There will be increased Ambassador presence to assist
customers
