SUBJECT: ITEM 5F – 2025 SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE,
ADOPTION AND RECERTIFICATION
Staff received the following question, regarding Item 5f: Sewer System Management
Plan. The questions are below with staff’s response shown in italics:
1. The following question was received “On page 372 of the staff report, it
describes that the SSMP undergoes internal audit at minimum, every 2 years
and is updated every 5. However, on page 334 of the packet, in the SSMP
itself, it states that the SSMP requires update every 6 years and is audited
every three. Can you explain this discrepancy, or did I read something
incorrectly?”
The dates listed in the Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) document are
correct. The requirements of the State’s General Order are to (at a minimum)
update the SSMP every six years and to perform an internal audit every three
years. There is a discrepancy in the staff report, which listed a five-year update
requirement and a two-year audit requirement.
