Subject: St Fratty's Day Walk n Talk Shifts
Hello
In an effort to engage our community as much as possible for the upcoming St Fratty’s Day enforcement period we are requesting officers to conduct Walk n Talks in the affected neighborhoods.
The shifts are scheduled 1100-1500 on a couple key days this weekend and next week. The purpose is to share information and answer questions about the expectations and enforcement
during St Fratty’s Day weekend (and all days leading up to St Patrick’s Day). The message is we will have an extremely robust Police presence (throughout the entire weekend including
St Patricks Day) with officers from all over the region to enforce ZERO Tolerance of any illegal behavior, maximum enforcement of the Safety Enhancement Zone, and this unsanctioned
street party will not be tolerated.
The intention is to reach as many people as possible. Christine has already sent out 8000 of the attached flyers to our predominately “college neighborhoods”. We are advertising on
all forms of media, meeting with community groups, we’ve been handing out informational flyers on each contact for weeks, etc.
The attached flyer is a 6x11 card that will be passed out during these walking shifts. There will be or about 500 of them in my office for anyone working these shifts. Also attached
is a map of the area to be walked which includes a no parking zone (Hathway/Bond/Fredericks). Please share that this area will be posted no parking and any vehicles will be towed by
our Parking Enforcement Department that weekend. Residents can park elsewhere in the neighborhood that is not posted, and parking is allowing all overflow necessary in the Monterey
Heights parking district.
Please keep track of the area you cover during your shift and pass that on to the officers working the next shifts to help efficiently cover the neighborhood. Please attempt contact
at each residence and any people who you come across. Also stop in at the businesses in this area to keep them informed as well.
Sing up in Intime if you’re interested.
Thank you for all the help!
Jason
