Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Mayor Stewart and Council, Please program funds in your new budget for the City to create a rental registry and implement added protections for the 60+% of households in SLO that are renters. I was a homeowner and since my divorce back in 1995 I have been renting here in SLO. I worked as a staff at Cal Poly. I graduated from Cal Poly with. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master Degree in Education. I have always worked and never received any help. I retired from Cal Poly 4 years ago. The rents in SLO are extremely high. Landlords are billionaires from out of SLO and some of the new apartment buildings that you see around town are owned by them. They have Management Companies in charge of the buildings and they do not care about tenants. They are charging for having a parking space and for having a washer and dryer in the unit. Tenants pay for all the utilities. Please help tenants and protect tenants. Thank you. Sincerely, Rocio Alvear, M.A. rocio.alvear@gmail.com Cell: 805.748.6518 1
