John Sohacki <jsohacki@charter.net> Sent:Monday, March To:E-mail Council Website Subject:New Development plans for south LOVR/Higuera This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. SLO city Council: 03/31/25 I am a long time resident and registered voter who has lived in the same house for 37 years. We have watched with increasing discomfort, the transformation of SLO-Town to SLO- city Some changes were necessary and some beneficial but we miss seeing the hills when walking downtown, especially now when the green hills are blocked by 4 story buildings. We must have missed the meeting when the height restriction was raised. The constant growth and over development is heartbreaking to the thousands of “old timers” who call this home. We’re the frogs being tossed in the warm water and the developers and politicians keep turning up the heat For years, one of our main concerns has been the increase in population density without proper attention to necessary infrastructure needed to accommodate the increased traffic. The traffic increase will have a negative impact on the lives and re-sale value for the residents of Los Verdes Parks 1 and 2 and small SFR tract of Meadow Park. The south end of town especially where Higuera meets LOVR is overrun with traffic. the ridiculous bike lanes being constructed all over town do not help matters any since they take away car lanes: that in itself is quite frustrating considering I never see more than a hand full of bike riders in any given day; half of which are homeless Hobos on stolen bikes. Although Mr. Wade is certainly entitled to a fair return on his investment, we feel the numbers are just too large for the location’s space and urge restrain in approval, as well as requirement for independent traffic analysis reports. For God’s sake please don’t make the overcrowding and increased traffic any worse than it already is. This little town can’t take anymore. Please stop before it turns into LA or SFC. 1 Thank you for your attention. John Sohacki, 72 Mariposa Drive 2
