Re: Broadstone Project

I want to express my concerns for this project. I live on Buckley Rd and this project will
most definitely add to our traffic. I was very involved with both the Avila Ranch project
and the Froom Ranch project.
My biggest concern is inadequate infrastructure with our roads. You keep approving
building projects without road improvements. The developers promise to do x, y, & z and
then it never happens. The Prado Overpass is a perfect example. I was at the Planning
Commission meeting when they told San Luis Ranch they had to do the overpass
before Phase 2. They agreed. One year later they are back at the City Council saying
they don’t have the funding. City Council let them off the hook!!! Bad decision! That
project has at least tripled in costs!
My point is your council is not looking after the constituents, but rather more interested
in pleasing the developers and just build baby build!!! I have heard you say the state
makes you build all these houses. Not true! Other cities push back when they don’t
have the infrastructure to support the traffic.
Froom Ranch will greatly impact LOVR and now you are considering another project
that will further the congestion.
Another ploy of the developers is to say they will provide affordable housing!! Do you
see affordable housing at San Luis Ranch? Avila Ranch? No because they say they
can’t afford to do it up front so they push it the end of the project. Probably will never
happen.
The City Council is supposed to protect our city and be sure developers are held to their
word. I strongly encourage you to consider not approving this project until the Prado
Overpass is completed!
Thank You for your consideration.
