Dear Mayor Stewart and City Councilmembers,
Please program funds in your new budget for the City of SLO to create a rental registry and implement added protections
for the 60+% of households in SLO that are renters.
I made a list of other cities in California who have a rental registry already. I have also sent a list of what rental registries
include (copied from a SF law office's website.) Finally, I found a spreadsheet from Feb. 2024 which contains a list of
California cities with a rental registry.
It's time we did the right thing for renters in San Luis Obispo, CA.

information about the property owner and the rental property.

Services included in the price of rent such as internet access, laundry, parking
Square footage, number of bedrooms/baths
Business contact information for owner/manager
Occupancy status of unit
2. Information about Rent Charges
Start date and Initial rent charged to tenant
Current monthly rental charge
Date and amount of most recent rent increase
3. Information about the Tenant
Name and e-mail address of at least one current tenant
Number of all occupants at start of the tenancy
Reason previous tenant vacated
