BIPOC Business Walk, Saturday April 12th
Saturday, April 12th installment of
the Community Belonging Series -
an event in collaboration with the
SLO Chamber’s Insight Studio
that celebrated Black, Indigenous,
and People of Color (BIPOC)-
owned businesses in San Luis
Obispo with a guided walking tour.
The tour showcased local
businesses, restaurants, and offered
free samples and snacks.
The Community Belonging Series is a series of events in partnership
with the City and Cal Poly's Office of University Diversity &Inclusion.

What we are doing:
•Working with vendor to correct prox card access issues
•Adjustments to the "Grace Period" after payment
•Entering License Plate Recognition (LPR)
•Additional camera location
•Exiting LPR camera view
•Camera position adjustments
•Installation of speed humps at exit
•Protocol for emergency services to control garage gate arms

New Fast EV Chargers Available at City Parking Lots
-A total of 8 fast EV chargers are now available for
community use at the parking lots of Johnson Park and
Santa Rosa Park!
-These fast chargers provide most EVs with around an 80%
charge in less than half an hour.
-This project is possible through a public-private
partnership with Valta Energy who has installed and will
own and operate these public chargers in City parking lots.
-8 additional chargers will come online at the Calle
Joaquin Park & Ride and Amtrak Railroad Parking Lot later
in 2025.

•Construction Board of Appeals hearing
scheduled for May 5, 1 p.m.
•Will consider if Building Official
properly applied building code
•Until hearing – enforcement of Notice
and Order is stayed – no fines will be
assessed to property owner
•Staff continues to work with impacted
tenants and building owner
