Slack Street Tuesday Night 5:30 pm ( on your consent agenda) I remain unconvinced that the fact that Cal Poly is not improving the north side of Slack street on this project as it moves forward. It is creating a hazard to the existing neighborhood homes on the southside of Slack street due to historic flooding concerns from that hillside. Water that runs off of their property often runs into the yard of the homes on Slack Street and then diverts into the backyards of their homes which then creates a flooding issue on Hays Street. Not keeping the water on their northern side of Slack Street is creating and issue for city residents on Slack and Hays Street. I have witnessed it over 20 time in my lifetime (1950's thru today). They want the land for their houses, but they don't want to improve it so that water is not being properly shed to the street and or diverted to storm drains. If you have not seen this street, it is way too narrow the have two cars pass each other already. Cal Poly should complete the job of improving the northside of Slack Street with retaining and gutters as needed along with storm drainage for run off. I will try to be at the meeting on Tuesday, but I am not able to make it, please take my concerns into consideration, or I will let you know when the rains hit next winter.
