BACKGROUND:
At the meeting of November 1st., the City Council took action as a 4 -1
vote on the AMENDMENT to the ordinance covering horse drawn vehicles in
the central business district to include other non -motor driven vehicles.
The background of the ordinance and amendment request is found in that
report.
This amendment has no significant budget or financial impact.
No one spoke for or against this ordinance amendment and we have received
no additional public comment.
Recommendation:
Give final passage to ordinance as recommended by staff.

ORDINANCE NO. 1123(1988 Series)
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AMENDING SECTION
10.48.030 OF THE SAN LUIS OBISPO MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PROHIBIT, EXCEPT BY PERMIT, THE
OPERATION OF ANIMAL DRAWN AND NON -MOTOR
DRIVEN VEHICLES WITHIN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS
DISTRICT.
Section 1. Section Number 10.48.030 of the San Luis Obispo
Municipal Code is amended to read as set out in Exhibit As attached
hereto and incorporated by this reference.
Section 2. This amendment, together with the ayes and noes, shall
be published once in full at least three (3) days prior to its final
passage, in the Telegram - Tribune, a newspaper published and
circulated in said City, and the same shall go into effect thirty
(30) days after its passage.
INTRODUCED AND PASSED INTO PRINT by the Council of the City of San
Luis Obispo at a meeting held on the Ist day of November
1988, on motion of Councilwoman Rappa
seconded by
Councilwoman Pinard
and on the following roll call vote:
Ayes: Councilmembers Rappa, Pinard, Reiss and Mayor Dunin
Noes: Councilman Settle
Absent: None
