Subject:2025 Tank Farm Road Paving Project
Dear Staff and City Council:
I have just recently purchased a condo on Felicia Way off Tank Farm
Road. For my wife and myself, one of the most appealing aspects of
SLO is the availability of city parks, trails, and open space. We chose
this location in large part due to French Park, Islay Park, Righetti Hill,
and Islay Morro/Trails.
We were really encouraged about the plans to reduce parts of Tank
Farm from 5 to 3 lanes, with additional striped buffered bike lanes
and pedestrian crossing improvements. We are strongly in favor of
Alternative 1 (Road Diet) - the city's original plan and are equally
discouraged with Alternative 2. Although we certainly drive on Tank
Farm, we prefer walking as much as possible, often with our dog and
grandchild. Alternative 1 makes the place much safer for us and a
more enjoyable place to live as well with slower and less traffic and a
greater focus on biking and walking.
We hope you will pursue alternative 1 as originally proposed by the
city.
