Honorable Mayor and Council Members
I'm not sure if I can make the meeting on Tuesday so sorry about a second comment submitted.
At 11:10 a.m. this morning I was in a line of cars between Poinsettia and heading towards Broad St. They were
backed up past the entrance to the Marigold shopping center entry.
There was an additional line of cars heading from Broad St, towards Poinsettia trying to turn left into the
Marigold center. At that point no one was getting anywhere, just sitting.
It is my understanding, when a development is proposed to the city the developer generally needs to provide a
traffic study to accommodate the new car trips related to the amount of new homes being built. Once
submitted, there is usually traffic mitigation measures put in to place to accommodate the new development so
traffic flows as it should, and so on. I'm assuming all of this was done, approved by all concerned and put into
motion. So all the homes get built, the roads are doing what they were intended to do (carry the traffic flow) as
mitigated and then BOOM, lets do a road diet to to clog things up and counter the earlier studies that have
were put into place and are working just fine, as they should have.
I'm not following the logic here.
Thank you for your time and doing what you do.
Steve Delmartini
