HomeMy WebLinkAbout5/6/2025 Item 7c, Frokjer From:Andy Frokjer <andyfrokjer@sbcglobal.net> Sent:Tuesday, May To:E-mail Council Website Subject:My public comment regarding Tank Farm Road project I encourage the Council to approve repaving Tank Farm Road without restriping (removing lanes). I’ve lived in the neighborhoods along Tank Farm Road for 14 years and regularly walk, ride and drive on Tank Farm Road. I feel safe riding a bicycle on Tank Farm and I feel safe crossing at intersections. The crossing at Poinsettia could be improved easily by adding a second flashing light further east so that drivers rounding the bend could be alerted early to someone in the crosswalk before they reach it. It would also help to regularly trim the trees and bushes in the area so that drivers could see the various traffic signs. With the restriping alternatives, I have concerns about:  Expeditious evacuation in the event of a wildfire event similar to Altadena, Pacific Palisades, Lahaina and Paradise  Safely turning out of the neighborhood when all traffic is concentrated into one lane  Creating congestion on one of the few roads in SLO that has adequate capacity for a growing Cal Poly and city population  Spending more of the city’s budget than we need to Our streets need to be repaired and repaved so they are safe to drive and ride on. Thank you for your consideration, Andy Frokjer 1
