P.O. Box 8100
San Luis Obispo , CA. 93493
A summation of the Steelcase/Office Mart proposal to
furnish systems furniture to the City of San Luis Obispo.
#1 - The Steelcase "Movable Wall" system has been one of the
"Standards of the Industry" for the past fifteen years . It
meets all requirements for providing necessary acoustics ,
flexibility, electric power needs and guarantees for quality
and durability that may be required. Major users such as
Digital Equipment Corp. and Texas Instruments have used the
product line as their "standard" for years . Kern County has
recently selected the same combination of walls with series
9000 system for their needs after an exhaustive three month
evaluation.
#2 - Warranty - Steelcase systems furniture ( except
electrical components and functional mechanisms) are
warranted for 10 years ; Hayworth system furniture for 1
year. Factory printed warranties are attached. Labor to
replace or repair warranty items is included by The Office
Mart and Steelcase.
#3 - Price - We will provide a better solution, with better
quality tables, chairs , drawer pedestals , shelves , binders
and lateral files on this bid for twelve thousand three
hundred dollars less ( $12 , 300 . 00 savings)
#4 - Service - for fiveey ars .
Our local sales and service facility with back-up from our
headquarters in Santa Barbara will provide reliable,
experienced, quality service to the City. A new Los Angeles
company with proposed offices 150 miles away is questionable
service for five years.
#5 - Delivery time - Hayworth is quoting nineteen week
delivery at this time. (Call to factory) . Steelcase/The
Office Mart is now quoting ten week delivery and
installation.

Summation
The complete Steelcase product lines of desks, files, systems
and chairs offered in our bid response is superior in quality,
price and service compared to the other bidder .
Yours truly,
Robert E . Dullea
