1. CALL TO ORDER
A Regular Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Planning Commission was called to
order on April 9, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 990
Palm Street, San Luis Obispo, by Chair Cooley.
2. ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
As required by the Planning Commission Bylaws, hold the election of
Commissioners to serve as Chair and Vice Chair to a one-year term.
Motion By Commissioner Jorgensen
Second By Commissioner Kahn
Elect Commissioner Dave Houghton to the position of Chair for a 1-year term.
Ayes (6): Commissioner Flores, Commissioner Jorgensen, Commissioner Kahn,
Commissioner Tolle, Vice Chair Houghton, and Chair Cooley
Absent (1): Commissioner Munoz-Morris
CARRIED (6 to 0)

public right of way between 1998 and 2006 San Luis Drive is in conformity
with the General Plan and recommend that the City Council approve the
abandonment by adopting a Resolution of Vacation.

Cannabis Business Coordinator Ivana Gomez presented the staff report
and responded to Commission inquiries.

Adopt a Resolution recommending the City Council introduce and approve
an Ordinance to amend Section 17.86.080 (“Cannabis”) of Title 17
(“Zoning Regulations”) of the Municipal Code to clarify specific land use
and operational requirements for commercial cannabis activity.

6. COMMENT AND DISCUSSION
6.a STAFF UPDATES AND AGENDA FORECAST
Deputy Community Development Director Tyler Corey provided the
following update of upcoming projects:
The April 23rd meeting will be canceled due to lack of items.
Tentatively scheduled for the May 14th meeting, is review of
several Conditional Use Permits for existing fraternities and review
of the General Plan Conformity Report for the City's Capital
Improvement Program.
Tentatively scheduled for the May 28th meeting, is additional review
of Conditional Use Permits for existing fraternities and a
presentation from planning students from Cal Poly regarding
development opportunities in the upper Monterey area.
Commissioner Flores noted she will be absent for the May 14th meeting.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 7:21 p.m. The next Regular Meeting of the
Planning Commission is scheduled for May 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm Street, San Luis Obispo. The April 23, 2025
meeting will be canceled due to lack of items.
