We own 1411 Sydney Street and are direct neighbors to the property in question. I have emailed once before, but will double down on it. My wife and I LOVE their wooden fence and the hedge between our properties. So much so that we plan on tearing down our fence because the back of their new fence is more beautiful than the front of our fence. Jake is a professional landscape architect and their backyard is the most beautiful oasis I have ever stepped foot into. It is truly magical and it raises the standard in our neighborhood for the quality and attention to detail in their landscaping. We would be devastated to lose the privacy between our homes that their fence and hedge provide. We think our opinion should matter most because we are direct neighbors to the fence and hedge in question, but even more so, the whole neighborhood benefits from having a well designed and beautifully upgraded home that Jake and Lacey have built. Privacy is important, especially in nice neighborhoods. And we want our neighborhood to trend more in that direction. In regards to the uphill side with Craig and Allison, Jake and Lacey should have every right to build their fence up since our street is on a hill. Nobody wants their uphill neighbor peering down into their living room! If Jake and Lacey didn’t have the fence between our properties, Brynne and I would look to build one. But thankfully they do.
