HomeMy WebLinkAbout6/11/2025 Item 4a, Anonymous To:Oetzell, Walter Subject:FNCE-0686-2024 For Wednesday June 11 Hi Walter, I am writing to voice my continued support for our neighbors Jake and Lacey Minnick at 1425 Sydney St. I have had a chance to review the documentation regarding Allison and Craig Brandum's appeal of the original decision. I believe it's abundantly clear that a 9 ft hedge is extremely reasonable, especially given the layout of both properties. If the hedge is to be kept under 9', it is obvious there is a clear view into the Minnick's yard, perfectly illustrated in the screenshot below: I think it's completely reasonable to create a screen that gives one's backyard a bit of privacy from a neighboring property. This is not in any way an unusual or outlandish request. The hedge at 9 ft, as requested by the Minnicks would in no way negatively impact their neighbors. At that height it creates a bit of screen for the lower property and does not even come close to even matching the height of the eaves of the neighboring upslope home, let alone creating some kind of problematic shading issue. The claim that this would cause some kind of mold or excessive cold is, in my opinion, absurd. Ultimately, I hope you will Adopt the Draft Resolution denying the appeal and upholding the decision of the Community Development Director approving the Fence Height Exception application FNCE-0686- 2024. Thank you for your consideration, -- … 1
