Following up with my continued support for my neighbors Jake + Lacey Minnick at 1425 Sydney Street. They have forwarded me the documentation for the meeting this Wednesday June 11. I still firmly believe their request for a hedge height exception of nine feet is a reasonable request, and the Community Development Director already approved it :) But I understand the need for the opponents to be heard on their appeal. The photos provided by the appellant (Allison and Craig Brandum at 1475 Sydney Street) on Page 50-56 of the link above further demonstrates how their "view" is looking directly into Jake + Lacey's beautifully landscaped back deck, driveway, garage, backyard, êŏċ϶ŗƇƂċŗŗŵ϶ńijƂąİđŏ϶Ќ϶đŏƂđŵƂêijŏijŏĩ϶ŹŲêąđБ϶İđŏąđ϶ the very reasonable need / want / desire for privacy. Furthermore, I do not believe Allison is standing on a ladder in these photos which tracks with the diagram illustrated on Page 27. Due to the difference in height between the two properties because of our sloped Sydney Street, it appears that Allison can look over/into the yard at any/all times which I imagine feels very intrusive. Their expressed concern for moisture and mold (page 28) seems far-fetched as I do not believe the shade throughout the day would cause this issue. I'm sure Jake and Lacey will provide photo documentation tracking the sun pattern and shadows throughout the day. Jake and Lacey have wonderful taste in plants and landscaping, and I have no doubt they will choose a great hedge plant that will provide filtered screening and be aesthetically pleasing. Their beautification efforts in their front and back yard over the years has helped increase everyone's property value on this block. I hope you will Adopt the Draft Resolution denying the appeal and upholding the decision of the Community Development Director approving the Fence Height Exception application FNCE-0686-2024. Best, Ï 1
