Tree Committee:
Re: 1421-C Broad Street
Even though this committee has no power (thanks to Matt Horn), I still want to express my opinion so that, as
the world is destroyed by climate change, I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren (if I’m still around when the world
ends) that I did what I could to preserve the world so that they could live in it.
Anyway, this tree (a “Mature African Fern) is overgrown and butting up against the house (also poorly
maintained by this slumlord) because the slumlord has neglected the tree for decades.
Now, he wants to blame the victim (the tree) by destroying it.
You can stop him, order him to mitigate his damages by paying money (he no doubt has plenty because he’s
been collecting rent and doing NO maintenance) to have the tree trimmed, make adjustments to the wall of the
house to accommodate the tree he has neglected, and we can all continue to benefit from the habitat and
oxygen the tree provides.
I have no confidence that you will deny this tree-removal request.
You’ll rubber-stamp it like you’ve done so many times before and another beautiful tree (like the ones in front of
Smith Volvo or the one at the corner of Mill and Toro, which you also allowed to be slaughtered), you’ll all go
merrily on your way, and you’ll remain in denial that YOU are going to continue to be partially, personally
responsible for the destruction of the world via climate change.
Have a nice day and meeting.
