Corporation Yard: Bulk Material Bins City Plan No. M-51D.
CAO RECOMMENDATION:
By Motion approve Plans and Specifications for the Corporation
Yard Bulk Material Bins, City Plan No. M-51D; Authorize Staff to
advertise for bids; Find that the project is not of sensitive or
exceptional community interest; Authorize the CAO to Award a
contract if bids are less than the Engineer 's cost estimate.
BACKGROUND:
The Corporation Yard Master Plan calls for the construction of bins
to hold bulk materials such as cold mix asphalt, sand, gravel , road
base, wood chips, top soil , etc. These materials are currently being
stored in the area designated by the master plan. The area has not
been surfaced in anticipation of the construction of these bins. The
bins are needed to keep the materials clean, contain the materials,
keep equipment from digging up the base on which the materials are.

The FY 1988-89 Capital Reinvestment Program Budget contains $50,000
for Corporation Yard Site Improvements.
Purchasing Procedure:
The provisions of Purchasing Control Manual Section PC-403-3 apply to
this contract .
Coordination:
The Community Development Department has determined that this project
has a categorical exemption from further environmental evaluation.
Fiscal Impact•
Engineer's estimate $ 59,460.
Contingencies $ 5,000.
TOTAL $ 64,460.
Funds Available:
The FY 1988-89 Capital Reinvestment Program Budget contains $50,000
for minor improvements at the Corporation Yard. These funds are
available in Account 040-9528- .
