Subject:Augusta Street Project
Hello,
I am a resident who lives on Augusta Street. We have become aware of the 28 unit housing project
application. We support the project to provide housing in SLO.
However, we are concerned about the limited parking in the plan, ie 14 parking spaces for 28 units.
Please be aware of the frequent parking/driving issues that currently exist on Augusta. In the short one block
area there is street parking now used by 1. the Sydney creek employees, 2. Post Acute medical center
employees, 3. the overflow for residents and visitors parking for Judson Terrace 4. Drop off/pick up of
Sinsheimer school students
And add to that the
5. Fire trucks from the Laurel Lane fire station that obstruct the street with frequent ingress/egress 6. The
school buses, school food delivery trucks 7. AND the city buses!
Already it is a VERY crowded narrow neighborhood street.
It seems prudent that a project with 28 units provide on site parking and not expect the street to absorb even
more.
