MEETING AGENDA ``''`' DATE 12-3-11 REIN t A!0 — ci y o sAntuisoas po 990 Palm Street/Post Office Box 8100 • San Luis Obispo, CA 93403.8100 April 3, 1991 TO: Mayor & City Council FROM: Architectural Review Commission BY: Ken Bruce, Senior Planner o SUBJECT: Council Agenda Item C-5 Sidewalk Improvement Project - Santa Barbara Street The commission does not support the recommended design of integral curbs, gutter, and sidewalk, and hopes the council denies` the design as recommended. The commission wants to see a detached sidewalk with a parkway design. The reasons for this recommendation are: 1, Their understanding that city policy is to promote parkways in Old Town. 2. `.The other two street frontages of this triangular block already are improved with detached sidewalks and a parkway. 3. Better separate pedestrians from fast-moving vehicles. 4. Provide for canopy street trees and other softening landscaping.
