Election to be held on April 9, 1991 to vote upon a proposed Charter Amendment
which would provide that the General Municipal Election for City elective officals
coincide with the date provided for the State and County and School District
Election as recommended. (On 1/2/91, Council ordered a Special Election on
4/9/91 and directed staff to return with a follow -up resolution regarding the Charter
Amendment.)

Consideration of amending the Agreement to provide special engineering services
pertaining to the water distribution and supply system.
RECOMMENDATION: By motion, approve Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement
to provide special engineering services pertaining to the groundwater program, the
Hansen /Gularte Creek Water Rights and the San Luis Obispo Creek Assessment
with the engineering firm of Boyle Engineering Corporation, at a cost not to exceed
$30,000, and authorize funding from 1989/90 Water Fund Carry Over, as

TENTATIVE MAP - LAWTON STREET
Our records indicate that your property is located near the subject property.
You are, therefore, being noticed that the San Luis Obispo City Council has received an
appeal of an Architectural Review Commission action to conditionally approve the
demolition of two houses, at 2572 and 2574 Lawton Street. The Council will also hold a
public hearing to consider a tentative map creating three deep lots from two lots at the
above mentioned addresses (Minor Subdivision 90 -286) at this meeting.

The San Luis Obispo City Council will hold a public hearing to consider your appeal
concerning a decision by the Architectural Review Commission to deny a requested
exception to the sign regulations for a sign at the Homestead Motel located at 920 Olive
Street.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January .15, 1991, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the
Council Chambers of City Hall, 990 Palm Street. Other hearings may be held before or
after this item. Please know that if you challenge this action in court, you may be limited
to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in
this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at, or prior to, the
public hearing.

The time has come to again award the Downtown Beautification
Plaques to those people or organizations who have made a
major effort to improve our downtown appearance and /or
personify the quality of life of San Luis Obispo.
Because the goals of this project are for the good of the
community as a whole and the downtown specifically, we would
appreciate the Council members participation by making the
announcement of each winner.
This year we will supply a written script indicating the
winners, the winning category, a description, and /or
pictures indicating the basis of their selection.
It would be greatly appreciated if these awards could be
presented at the second Council meeting in January, and that
each of you could assist in this year's program.
We look forward to this project and hope that the future of
downtown San Luis Obispo is projected as a place to be with
things to do and a quality second to none.
