Hello, I am afraid my comment is going to be too late..... I am raising my objections to the current modifications to our zoning that this project is requesting. Yes, there is a hurry to build, build, build in San Luis and with time, there will be more units available. BUT, modifying sound architectural zoning to hurry this is going to be an eyesore forever. Many forward thinking people preserved our hills around us and the setbacks help all residents, visitors see our beautiful setting. Elimination setbacks are creating horrid eyesores and destroying the views of our hills, mountains, and Morros. There needs to be view windows. For example, the giant box built on Broad Street. That section of Broad Street is a scenic corridor to town and so far very little was built to destroy the sweeping view of the entire Cuesta Ridge framing town. Even the big box store Staples did not block it. Nothing really did until this new project went in that did not have setbacks from the street and where parking could have been placed to preserve the view shed, a giant block of a building goes right to the corner. IT IS AN EYESORE FOREVER. Stop it. People have worked hard to preserve this town and let the setbacks be part of the process, offer something else to the builders, but don't sacrifice our view sheds. Another example is Tank Farm Road coming from Orcutt going towards Broad. The ARbors was in and the new Righetti development started across the street. Where thousands of residents and drivers would see the sweeping view of the Morros behind San Luis everyday driving that section now they are gone forever. It would have been as simple as having one maybe two houses one story instead of two. Why can this not be addressed. I believe there is language existing that addresses this issue. Why, in this new hurry, hurry, hurry are we sacrificing what decades of planning created. Thank you for your consideration and I hope my letter might still be presented to the hearing.
