Dear CHC Members,
I am writing to express my appreciation for the Cultural Heritage Committee, Community Development staff,
and the City of San Luis Obispo, in your current efforts to update the City’s Historic Preservation Ordinance
and Historic Resources Survey. I commend the work of your contractor, Page & Turnbull, and I support their
recommendations. I also heartily endorse the two-phase approach to this important undertaking.
I look forward to seeing these updates and guidance measures acted upon by the Committee, the other
advisory bodies and the City Council, and the subsequent changes and implementation of the guidance
embraced by the citizens of the City of San Luis Obispo.
