ROLL CALL Present: Chair John Thomas, and Vice Chair Samantha Welch, Committee Members, Anni Wang, Lori Lerian and Clint Pearce Absent: Members Maureen Forsberg and Robin Wolf Staff: Tourism Manager Molly Cano PUBLIC COMMENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA None --End of Public Comment-- CONSENT ITEMS ACTION: UPON MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER LERIAN, SECONDED BY VICE CHAIR WELCH CARRIED 5-0 (With Member Forsberg and Wolf absent) to approve the Consent Agenda items 1 thru 6. C.1 Minutes of the Meeting on October 12, 2022 C.2 2022-23 Community Promotions Budget Report C.3 SLO Chamber Monthly Public Relations Reports C.4 SLO Chamber Visitor Center Reports C.5 SLO Chamber GIA Support Reports C.6 Transient Occupancy Tax Report PRESENTATIONS 1.PUBLIC RELATIONS MONTHLY ACTIVITY UPDATE Minutes – Promotional Coordinating Committee Meeting of November 16, 2022 Page 2 Jacqui Clark-Charlesworth and Hollie West, the SLO Chamber presented the report for the public relations activities that occurred over the past month. Public Comment None --End of Public Comment-- ACTION: No action taken on this item. BUSINESS ITEMS 1.PUBLIC ART PROMOTIONAL CONTENT CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL Ashlee Akers Verdin Marketing reviewed the proposal for the public art promotional content campaign. Public Comment None --End of Public Comment-- ACTION: UPON MOTION BY MEMBER WANG, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER PEARCE, CARRIED 5-0 (With Member Forsberg and Wolf absent) to approve $15,000 from the Community Placemaking account for the Public Art Promotional Content Campaign as presented. 2.2023-25 COUNCIL GOAL SETTING PROCESS The PCC reviewed the committee input for the 2023-25 City Council goal-setting process. Public Comment None --End of Public Comment-- ACTION: UPON MOTION BY MEMBER LERIAN, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER WANG, CARRIED 5-0 (With Member Forsberg and Wolf absent) to forward to City Council the Committee’s input on the proposed FY 2023-25 City Council goals. 3.PLAZA POP UP ACTIVATIONS Tourism Manager Molly Cano presented a proposed approach to the possible Plaza Pop Up activations for the remainder of FY 23. DRAFT Minutes – Promotional Coordinating Committee Meeting of November 16, 2022 Page 3 Public Comment None --End of Public Comment-- ACTION: By consensus the Committee provided direction that the PCC would not take a proactive approach at this time to lead the development and fund new Plaza Pop Ups but would responsively consider opportunities as they come up and would also consider supporting activations outside Mission Plaza. PCC LIAISON REPORTS AND COMMUNICATION 1.GIA LIAISON REPORT - None 2.COMMITTEE OUTREACH UPDATE - None 3.TBID BOARD REPORT Member Pearce reported on the November 9, 2022 TBID meeting. 4.TOURISM PROGRAM UPDATE Tourism Manager Molly Cano provided a brief Tourism Program update. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:08 p.m. The next Regular Promotional Coordinating Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall 990 Palm Street.
